A Grade II listed cottage in peaceful surroundings with lovely views just four miles from the coast at Falmouth. The single-storey barn adjoins the owner’s home, has been renovated to the highest standard and offers extremely light and spacious holiday accommodation with floor length windows, skylights, full height cross-beamed ceilings and whitewashed stone walls. The property is situated 1½ miles from the village of Constantine with its pub, shop, famous wine store and the Tolmen Arts Centre. Falmouth is home to a busy working harbour, which is the world's third deepest. Falmouth Harbour is known for its pleasure trips, cruises and summer sailing regattas. Tourism has become an integral part of the town and Falmouth's sandy beaches are legendary. The cliff-top walks offer wonderful views over the wooded river country inland, and of Carrick Roads and Falmouth Bay. The latest attraction is a new fish and chip restaurant, takeaway and oyster bar close to the colourful waterside, part of the Rick Stein empire which has expanded from the more famous restaurants and shops in Padstow on the north coast. Also nearby is Helford, lying on an inlet off the Helford River, it is considered by many visitors to be one of the loveliest villages on the Lizard Peninsula. Many of the village’s characterful stone cottages have thatched roofs with neat front gardens containing honeysuckle, fuchsias and roses. Frenchman's Pill, now owned by the National Trust, presents a very different landscape from the rest of the Lizard Peninsula and makes an interesting and attractive walk from the village, immortalised as the setting for Daphne du Maurier's novel 'Frenchman's Creek'. The area is a popular bird habitat, especially with herons. Glendurgan, at Helford is said to be one of the best sub-tropical gardens in the area, while nearby Trebah Garden is well worth a visit. The National Seal Sanctuary, in the neighbouring village of Gweek, is an interesting visitor attraction on the Helford estuary, caring for injured and orphaned seal pups.
